Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Deborah has essentially been an artist since she was a child. Her early professional background began in advertising & design for a variety of retail corporations. Working in a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, metal & clay, charcoal, pastels, ink and graphite has been the inspiration of her art. For the past decade, Deborah has incorporated her art with her passion for fashion, interior design, various collaborations with various interior designers in Michigan, Colorado & the South Florida area. ​As a contemporary artist, Rader responds to her environment in a nontraditional manner whether it is the beauty of the landscape or the intensity of observing life and the reactions of the human condition. In whatever she creates, Rader imbues her work with a passionate and determined spirit. She has studied art at the Center for Creative Studies, Detroit, MI, Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Center, Birmingham, MI, Sante Fe Clay, NM, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass Village, CO where she was awarded a ceramic sculpture residency in 2006/07. Her work has been shown in galleries in Detroit, Aspen, CO, Washington DC, and Florida.
Rader's work is part of private and corporate collections internationally.
